Overview of role:
Gaeltec Utilities are seeking a Planner to work with our Overhead Lines team. As a planner you will be a key member of the OHL team who will prepare network maps, planned outages, weekly reports and a key resource in liaising with external contractors and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare crew work packs for planned outages on a daily basis.
- Plan and prepare material lists for the crews and warehouse manager on a daily basis.
- Review work packs with the crews as they return from site to discuss any deviations/alterations to the work that was planned.
- Preparation of weekly report for materials used that takes into account all deviations/alterations to the planned work.
- Preparing network maps for supervisors/access officers to inspect works in advance of planned outages.
- Utilise the MRL system to book work days for work in urban areas.
- Liaise with manager/supervisors/access officers/stakeholders to discuss the progress of projects and address any issues that arise.
- Liaise with external contractors to organise their participation in projects when required i.e. traffic management, specialised equipment.
- Site visits and audits.
- Project co-ordination to ensure the achievement of all deliverables in a timely manner.
- Update and report progress of the project at regular intervals to the Project Manager.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role within an ESB project, specifically overhead lines networks (LV/MV/HV) is preferred, but not essential.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management and planning skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to resolve issues as they arise.
- Proven experience in liaising with operational teams.
- Good customer services and organisational skills.
- Ability to risk assess activities throughout your working day within Health and Safety guidelines.
- Flexible approach to meet business requirements.
- Ability to work independently and within a team, take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to required work schedules, attention to detail and follow work rules.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular excel and ability to learn other software packages.
- Current drivers licence.
