Machine Operator

Location: South East Area and Dublin Area  

Contract: 1 year with review  

 

Overview of role:  

Gaeltec Utilities are seeking a number of Machine Operators within the Telecoms Team to work throughout Ireland. With experience of construction essential and CSCS 360 ticket essential. We are looking for an number of individuals who are willing to travel to multiple locations, company transportation provided from base location.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support Crew/Team leader by having a pro-active attitude towards all tasks and follow their instructions;
  • Assure that all documentation related to the machine is always present on site and up to date and done daily/weekly.
  • Perform all works according with Health and Safety rules, MESC’s, code of practice, method statements and HSA regulations;
  • Be active part on performing the pre-work Safety Risk Assessment and Job Site Safety Plan;
  • Assure that have proper PPE, certified and in good conditions to perform all tasks;
  • Assure to be always presentable as part of the company’s image, have a likable attitude towards the colleagues, customer representatives and members of the public;
  • Assure that all tools and equipment’s are in good shape and working correctly;
  • Assure site work space is with housekeeping in perfect conditions;
  • Assure all works are performed within customer quality, procedures, and technical requirements;
  • Escalate problems, challenges, safety issues to the Crew /Team Leader;
  • Support all Team on site in helping to solve complex works;

Site Supervisor

Location: Southeast Area and Dublin Area  

Contract: 1 year with a review  

 

Overview of role:  

Gaeltec Utilities are seeking a Site Supervisor within the Telecoms Team to work throughout Ireland. We are looking for an individual who is willing to travel to multiple locations, company transportation provided from base location. As site supervisor, this resource will be part of the site supervision staff on a company specific site, responsible for the supervision of all staff on site (internal or external) in all activities related to Civils, UGL and OHL.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support Crew/Team Leaders or PICW’s on daily tasks to comply with plannings;
  • Support Site Managers with field information;
  • Monitor if the crews have all materials, equipment’s and proper PPE’s to perform their daily tasks;
  • Monitor if crews are on site with all Safety personal documentation and training certs;
  • Assure Health and Safety rules are followed by all workers complying with MESC’s, code of practice, method statements and HSA regulations;
  • Assure all works are performed within customer quality requirements;
  • Assure all works are performed within customer technical guidelines and procedures;
  • Control and monitor team activities;
  • Control and monitor Daily work sheets;
  • Perform safety and quality audits to the teams under his supervision;
  • Support Site Manager in Supervision and control of production;
  • Attend and chair daily ‘Toolbox Talks.’;
  • Assure that stock of materials is necessary to support team activities;
  • Report and escalate to Site Manager as needed;
  • Manage the relationship with the client;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third party service providers or product suppliers;
  • Support all crews on site in resolving complex works;
  • Escalate all doubts that appear during work activities related to Safety and procedures;

 

To be considered for the Site Supervisor position you will Ideally have the following: 

  • Educated to diploma/certificate Civils engineering, Fibre Optic Communications or relevant; field equivalent experience preferred;
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working on utilities networks;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working on civils projects;
  • Experience in supervising multi-disciplined teams in a fast-paced volume driven environment;
  • Proven ability to use MS Office programs;
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills needed;
  • Proven ability to liaise and communicate with client reps on site and at meetings;
  • Manual Handling and Safe Pass qualifications;
  • Must understand and speak the English language;
  • Excellent analytical with a high standard of numerical skills;
  • Proven ability to use Office 365 Tools;
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime when necessary;
  • Flexible to travel as necessary;

Junior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Kilkenny

Contract: 1 year with review

 

Overview of role:

Gaeltec Utilities are seeking a creative, highly motivated and innovative Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Prepare cost plans to enable design teams to produce practical designs for construction projects, which involves liaising with engineers and subcontractors.
  • Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors and, where appropriate, negotiate with the contractors.
  • Control all stages of projects within predetermined budget, a Cost Monitoring and expenditure.
  • Monitor and keep track of project progress and are responsible for the measurement and valuation of variations in the work during the contract, for agreement of interim payments and the final account.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
  • Preparation of accurate forecasts of project costs to completion and final value.
  • On site valuations and progress reports.
  • Monthly cost/value reports and management accounts.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure that the requirements of the client are delivered.

 

To be considered for the Junior Quantity Surveyor position you will Ideally have the following:

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in same or similar role (Must be Construction based).

Linesman or Accredited Overhead Level 1 Siro

Location: Dublin

Contract: 1 year with a review

 

Overview of role:

Gaeltec Utilities are seeking a Linesman or accredited Overhead Level 1 within the Telecom department. The primary role of a Lineman is to install Fibre and all the furniture involved on ESB OH Lines LV and MV on the Telecoms Department For Fibre Deployment Client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To promote, develop and maintain a positive Companywide health, safety and environmental culture.
  • Stop and report any situation that you deem to be a danger to yourself or others. Report immediately any hazardous conditions to those responsible and keep records of all such inspections and hazards.
  • Working as a Linesman on the OHL Electricity you will be responsible for day-to-day operational outputs.
  • Reporting directly to your PICW, you must be goal orientated, a team player and determined to succeed in all aspects of the OHL work.
  • Take responsibility for daily work tasks, as instructed by your chargehand or by your Supervisor.
  • Take part in team briefs and tool box talks.
  • Adhere to the safety rules as set out by the Company and its Client.
  • Have an ongoing determination to complete the work on time and to the specified requirements.
  • You will be competent in the completing your dally tasks.  paperwork required, (Permits) to control the network that you and all team members will be working on, at any given time.
  • You will take proper care of all tools/equipment/PPE and vehicles supplied to you by the company and report any defects found.
  • You will deal with the public in a courteous manner at all times and keep the company’s integrity in good stead.

 

To be considered for the Linesman or accredited Overhead Level 1 Siro position you will Ideally have the following:

  • At least 2 years experience as a Linesman working on ESB Lines
  • Proven track record of working on OHL works
  • Knowledge of ESB OHL build and an in depth understanding of the Permit to work procedures

Key Responsibilities:

  • A General Operative is responsible for ensuring that production is carried out efficiently in adherence to quality standards.

  • Follow instruction from the Crew Leader/Team Leader.

Underground Technician Level 3

Location: Multiple Locations

Contract: 1 year with a review

 

Overview of role:

Gaeltec Utilities are seeking Underground Technician Level 3 within the Telecoms Team to work throughout Ireland. We are looking for an individual who is willing to travel to multiple locations, travel expenses provided. As crew leader, this resource will be part of the site production staff, responsible for the leading UG Crews within civils, ducting and UGL works., Reporting directly to Site Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and lead crew members by explaining correctly daily activities;
  • Assure the crew has all materials, equipment’s and PPE’s to perform their daily activities;
  • Assure that all crew members are on site with all Safety personal documentation and training certs;
  • Assure Health and Safety rules are followed by all workers complying with MESC’s, code of practice, method statements and HSA regulations;
  • Perform pre-work Safety Risk Assessment;
  • Design and Implement Job Site Safety Plan accordingly with Risk assessment performed;
  • Assure site work space is with housekeeping in perfect conditions;
  • Assure that all exclusions zones and traffic management is correctly performed and accordingly with regulations;
  • Assure all works are performed within customer quality requirements;
  • Assure all works are performed within customer technical guidelines and procedures;
  • Assure all crew members have a good behavior towards the public;

To be considered for the Underground Technician Level 3 position you will Ideally have the following:

  • Proven work experience as an Underground Technician Level 3 or similar role
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other employees.
  • Ability to work under pressure to successfully complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to operate company vehicles and maintain a driver’s license, and commercial license if applicable, in good standing.
  • Knowledge of underground utility construction and your assigned geographic region.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are necessary to perform a variety of work assignments
  • Must have an understanding of the English language

We are looking for an individual who is willing to travel to multiple locations, travel expenses provided. This resource will be part of the UG crews, responsible to perform UG works on site according with Safety, Quality, Technical and internal regulations. Reporting directly to UG Crew Leader with high level of supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency by establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals.
  • Continuous monitoring and evaluation of available data to ensure optimal warehouse layout and stock integrity is being achieved.
  • Identify opportunities and implement initiatives for continuous improvements in ways of working, quality, consistency, and effectiveness of process.

Warehouse Officer

Location: Kilkenny

Contract: 1 year with a view to permanent

Overview of role:

Gaeltec is a leading company operating in the Energy and Telecommunication sectors. We are currently recruiting for Warehouse Officer to join our existing dynamic and successful team at our Kilkenny Depot.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading trucks and trailers
  • Store stock deliveries
  • Prepare, protect, maintain, and secure stock
  • Responsible for stock take and stock rotation
  • Ensure that all required documentation is accurately completed
  • Assist colleagues with locating and issuing specific products
  • Assist goods intake and dispatch, checking for accuracy and quality and highlighting any issues
  • Ensure all goods deliveries are checked so that no substandard, defective and/or incorrect goods are missing or damaged
