Kellystown – Woodland 220kV Line Uprate

Over the past years, our dedicated team have successfully undertaken and completed several projects across Ireland, working on behalf of ESB Networks. One of these projects is the Kellystown – Woodland 220kV Line.

Works on the Kellystown – Woodland 220kV line project commenced in May 2024, and given the dedication, skills and collaboration of the team and partners, the project was completed in October 2024, just five months later.

Throughout the duration of this project, the Gaeltec HV team worked closely with ESB Networks and the local landowners to ensure necessary access to complete the tasks at hand. This collaboration was crucial in navigating the logistical challenges and ensuring that the project progressed smoothly. The teams experience with the Kellystown – Woodland 220kV Line uprate is a testament to the team’s ability to manage and execute complex projects and deliver results within tight timeframes.

This milestone demonstrates the teams’ commitment to the ongoing effort in enhancing energy infrastructure throughout Ireland.

Successful Completion of the Ballyragget-Coolnabacky 110kV Line

We are proud to announce the successful completion of the Ballyragget-Coolnabacky 110kV Line. The Gaeltec Overheadline Transmission team in partnership with ESB’s Laois-Kilkenny HV reinforcement team, commenced the greenfield, new-build project in August 2023. The Gaeltec Utilities team constructed the line, starting from Tower 1 Ballyragget 220kV Station in Co. Kilkenny, extending to Tower 85 at Spink in Co. Laois, with works taking place in farmland and some sections of forestry.

The new line was strung with 430-millimetre square ACSR with 2 x ACS Shieldwires. It consists of 85 pole structures and 12 steel towers.

Congratulations to all involved.
