ALTERNATIVE ENERGY AWARENESS
Gaeltec is currently involved in many large scale renewable energy projects both in Ireland and overseas, whilst heavily involved in the electric transportation sector. As part of the company’s ongoing initiatives programme, Gaeltec have offered time to a number of primary and secondary schools to create greater awareness on alternative energy.
Gaeltec in conjunction with Green Schools Ireland and An Taisce launched European Mobility Week 2012 at two schools in Co Sligo, where the company’s electric vehicle was on display for students, parents, teachers and the local community.
In conjunction with Engineers Ireland, staff at Gaeltec Utilities Ltd have visited a number of primary and secondary schools throughout Ireland to promote engineering, with a particular focus on highlighting the importance of Maths and Science subjects.
These events include practical challenges and form part of a national competition. Gaeltec considers such voluntary engagement as a key introduction and awareness exercise for those students that may pursue an engineering career. The visits occur throughout National Engineering Week.
Our Personnel are constantly moving to different projects and roles in Ireland and abroad. Gaeltec are committed to ensuring that the knowledge and experience gained during all of our projects to date will not only be retained but will be used to enhance the safety of our workforce worldwide.
